Logan Cafe serves up success

The Potting Shed Bistro at Logan Botanic Garden has proved it has the recipe for success when it comes to winning top accolades.

The bistro, which already holds a VisitScotland Taste our Best award, has just scooped first place in the Café of the Year section of the Dumfries and Galloway Life magazine’s 2015 awards.

Bistro Manager, Caroline Torrance said: “We are delighted to have won this award. We all get great satisfaction from producing quality home-cooked meals and home baking to our visitors each season. Many of our recipes are traditional family favourites gathered over many years including Ecclefechan Tart. Much of our veg for soups, salad leaves and soft fruits are sourced at the Old School garden in Port Logan. We use chutneys and jams from Galloway Larder, seafood delivered by Ferry Fish Carsluith, ice creams from Cream O'Galloway and our non-alcoholic wines are from Cairn O'Mhor near Blairgowrie. Mull of Galloway Crab Salads are always a favourite and we will continue to offer our customers good value and quality all things Scottish.’’

Logan Botanic Garden won through to the final in the Tourism Champion category of the awards.
