In January Sally Heron, the Garden's first-ever Guide, received a certificate of merit for her contribution to horticulture at the annual Royal Caledonian Horticultural Society (RCHS) awards. Sally, now in her fourteenth year at the Garden, continues to delight visitors to the Botanics with her enthusiasm and knowledge.
The RCHS's new president was also announced at the ceremony. After five years as president, Professor Fred Last handed over the reigns to RBGE's George Anderson. George joined the Garden in 1966 and now heads up its School of Horticulture.
