Stunning photography from around the world has found the ideal backdrop this spring, as Images of a Green Planet, entries from The International Garden Photographer of the Year competition, brightens up wintry days for visitors to the Royal Botanic Garden Edinburgh (RBGE).
Showcasing stunning images from the competition’s Wildflower Landscapes, Trees Woods and Forests, The Bountiful Earth and Wildlife in the Garden categories, the RBGE exhibition focuses particularly on images reflecting biodiversity and the wider environment. The outdoor display – on the decking of the John Hope Gateway visitor centre - is sponsored by Water Gems, the landscape and water features specialists.
RBGE Head of Exhibitions, Dr Ian Edwards, said: “This is a vivid and exciting visual showcase display, on a truly international scale, which showcases the outstanding diversity that occurs at every level within the natural world. It is the perfect exhibition for RBGE to be hosting during this the Year of Natural Scotland.”
The exhibition runs at Edinburgh until May 27th, when it transfers to RBGE’s Regional Argyll site, Benmore Botanic Garden, opening there on June 1.
