A Green Planet, celebrated in images at Benmore

Stunning photography from around the world has found the ideal backdrop this summer, as Images of a Green Planet, entries from The International Garden Photographer of the Year competition, comes to Benmore Botanic Garden, near Dunoon in Argyll.

Showcasing stunning images from the competition’s Wildflower Landscapes, Trees Woods and Forests, The Bountiful Earth and Wildlife in the Garden categories, the exhibition focuses particularly on images reflecting biodiversity and the wider environment. The outdoor display – in the Formal Garden - is sponsored by Water Gems, the landscape and water features specialists.

Curator at Benmore, Peter Baxter, said: “This is a vivid and exciting visual showcase display, on a truly international scale, which showcases the outstanding diversity that occurs at every level within the natural world. It is the perfect exhibition for the Garden to be hosting during this the Year of Natural Scotland.”

The exhibition opens at Benmore on Saturday, 1 June and will run until Sunday, 28 July. Entry is free with Garden admission. Open 10am to 6pm daily.
