Major boost to help save the Alpine House.

RBGE is celebrating the news that it has received a £46,215 funding boost from SITA Trust to help restore the Garden’s Heritage Alpine House.

Scottish Ministers are looking to fill two Trustee positions on the Board of the Royal Botanic Garden (RBGE).  Each appointment is an opportunity to help shape the future of one of the world’s most renowned botanic gardens and require specialist knowledge and experience in two areas: Communications and Visitor Destination/Business Development.

A botanical legacy as never seen before

An insightful peek at the rarely seen objects supporting the work of a leading international research centre is presented exquisitely in the newly published Botanical Treasures: Objects from the Herbarium and Library of the Royal Botanic Garden Edinburgh. Set alongside alluring images of antique and contemporary archive specimens sit rich textual passages presenting powerful stories about plants and people from around the world.

Botanics Best: wonders of nature caught on camera

Judges of the RBGE Photography Competition 2013 were set an arduous task when asked to select nine winning images from 246 entries. Faced with quality shots from all four of the organisation's Gardens, they deemed the fourth annual Friends of RBGE fund-raiser to be an outright success.
