A botanical legacy as never seen before

An insightful peek at the rarely seen objects supporting the work of a leading international research centre is presented exquisitely in the newly published Botanical Treasures: Objects from the Herbarium and Library of the Royal Botanic Garden Edinburgh. Marking a new era at RBGE

A moment in history. Simon Milne receives the Royal Warrant and the title of Regius Keeper of the Royal Botanic Garden Edinburgh (RBGE). Only the 16th person to hold the title since it was created in 1699, Milne (54) accepted the warrant from Fiona Lim of the Scottish Government’s Rural and Environment Science and Analytical Services (RESAS) division, RBGE’s principal sponsorship body.

Botanics Best: wonders of nature caught on camera

Judges of the RBGE Photography Competition 2013 were set an arduous task when asked to select nine winning images from 246 entries. Faced with quality shots from all four of the organisation's Gardens, they deemed the fourth annual Friends of RBGE fund-raiser to be an outright success.
